Making healthy tweaks to my mindset, fitness and nutrition has been a huge influence on overcoming hardships, stress and anxiety in my life. I created Tweaked Style not only to inspire a stylish life, but to inspire a lifestyle in which we all can live our best life.
Today, I'm sharing photos of what's currently in my fridge and my go-to grocery list that helps me feel healthy and energized throughout the week. Keep in mind we all are different and have different nutrition needs, but maybe this will inspire you to tweak your own grocery list! Being petite and active I need 1500-1800 calories a day. Find your recommended daily calories here.
Although I've worked in the fitness industry and studied dance and yoga for several years I am not an expert at nutrition, but am sharing what I've been learning throughout my health journey. One of my favorite resources for nutrition facts is nutritionist Cindy Klinger (see her free grocery list here).
Most of my life I didn't really eat meat, but this January I committed to 100% pescatarian lifestyle. I love animals so much and felt contradictory eating meat. Making health decisions that align with my values has been a game changer for my mental and physical health. Although I would love if more of the world would advocate for animal life I respect everyone's choices to eat meat.
My grocery list
Tuna Fish (packets or can)
Pasta (Banza brand or muesli)
Crushed Canned Tomatoes
Onion Sprouts/Green Onions
Frozen Cooked Shrimp
100% Olive Oil
Organic Dark Chocolate
Extra Firm Tofu
Edamame (Trader Joe's)
White Bean Chips (Beanitos brand)
Lemon Hummus (Cedar's brand or homemade)
Favorite Comfort Foods
I strive to eat clean 90% of the time, but allow myself comfort food when I'm craving it. It's important to have balance and not deprive yourself of your favorite foods here and there. My go-to for comfort foods are Milano cookies, Halo Top Candy Bar ice cream, a glass of rose or good cocktail and a good frozen pizza.
