My Fall Mood Board

This past week I started to get summer seasonal depression from too much heat. I’ve never been a summer person, especially when my skin is super sensitive to the sun. Instead of stressing about going outside I dove into a fall style mood board project; planning out my color scheme, patterns, outfit combinations, and pieces I need to invest in.

Below I’m sharing my process and a few of my favorite fall fashion pieces to help you get an early start on your wardrobe.

Here’s how I created my mood board…

Step # 1

I started with a color scheme including prints that work with colors I will wear most days and already own. It’s okay to add in a new color, just not a ton of it until you know you’ll wear it everyday.

Step # 2

Pinterest boards helped me confirm my color scheme and outfit combinations. Check out Tweaked Style’s Pinterest boards here.

Step # 3

I considered my lifestyle when deciding which types of outfits I need to plan for (i.e. working out, being an entrepreneur, dog mom, social life). My goal was to choose clothes that can be worn for a variety of occasions.

Step # 4

After compiling my inspiration photos I uploaded them to Canva and designed my mood board collages (seen below).

Step # 5

New clothing purchases were added to my shopping list I budgeted for. All new items will work with my current wardrobe pieces. I try not to buy similar items to the ones I already own.
